The glamorous and fabulous came out on December 13, 2009 strutting their styled hairdos, expensive jewelry, beautiful gowns, and sharp suits on the red carpet at the 3rd MClub Music Video Awards and the 10th Armenian Music Awards. The event took place at the coveted Nokia Theatre in the heart of Downtown, Los Angeles. The occasion united Armenians from all over the world including France, Russia, Argentina, Iran, Lebanon, the United States and Armenia.
Having housed many concerts including those of Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, and Prince, the Nokia Theatre can now add on to the list as it has also hosted Armenian superstars like Irina Allegrova, Shushan Petrosyan, Seda Aznavour (daughter of Charles Aznavour), Element Band, Reincarnation, and Ara Martirosyan.
And what would an awards ceremony be without awards? Dozens of awards were given out throughout the event. Some of the winners included Armenoids, Sirusho, Oberton, Konstantin Orbelian, and Garnik Sarkisian. Special awards were given to actor Mike Connors and the nation of France. For those present, the highlight of the night was when singer, performer, and cultural icon Charles Aznavour received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” to a standing ovation.
